Independence Launched

Derecktor announces the successful launch of the 128.4-ft. tug, Independence, being built for Boston Towing and Transport.   When delivered, Independence will be based in Gloucester, Massachusetts, under a long term contract with Neptune LNG, an affiliate of SUEZ LNG North America. This offshore support vessel incorporates pitch propellers with the 5400 hp z drives, the first application of this type in the United States.
